Code of Conduct

We expect everyone associated with InsightHeart Foundation to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which outlines the principles and standards that guide our interactions and behaviors.

Respect and Inclusion

We value diversity and treat all individuals with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic. We promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

Zero Tolerance for Harassment and Discrimination

InsightHeart Foundation has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, discrimination, or bullying. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment free from any mistreatment. Any reported incidents will be promptly and thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken.

Responsibility for Impact

Compliance with Laws and Regulations

We operate in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. We adhere to the principles of good governance and take our legal and ethical obligations seriously.

Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates our Code of Conduct, we encourage you to report it to the appropriate authority within InsightHeart Foundation. Reports will be handled confidentially and with sensitivity.

By upholding our Code of Conduct, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters collaboration, trust, and positive social impact.

Please note that violation of the Code of Conduct may result in appropriate actions, including but not limited to counseling, warning, suspension, termination of involvement, or legal consequences, as deemed necessary by InsightHeart Foundation.

In addition to the general principles outlined in our Code of Conduct, InsightHeart Foundation adheres to specific clauses as required by the laws and regulations of the Province of Ontario, Canada. These clauses include:

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

InsightHeart Foundation is committed to meeting the accessibility standards set out in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). We strive to ensure that our services, facilities, and communications are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and we make reasonable accommodations to support their participation.

Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

InsightHeart Foundation complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of Ontario. We prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our volunteers, staff, and program beneficiaries. We provide a safe and healthy work environment, implement appropriate safety measures, and promote awareness of occupational health and safety requirements.

Employment Standards Act (ESA)

InsightHeart Foundation follows the Employment Standards Act (ESA) of Ontario in relation to employment practices. We uphold the rights of our employees and volunteers, including but not limited to standards related to hours of work, wages, vacation entitlements, and leaves of absence.

Privacy Protection

InsightHeart Foundation respects and protects personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Ontario

privacy laws. We have measures in place to ensure the privacy and security of personal information collected, used, and disclosed during our operations.

Ontario Human Rights Code

InsightHeart Foundation upholds the principles of the Ontario Human Rights Code. We are committed to promoting and protecting human rights, ensuring equal treatment and opportunity for all individuals, and preventing discrimination based on grounds such as race, ancestry, gender, religion, and disability.

By incorporating these specific clauses into our Code of Conduct, InsightHeart Foundation demonstrates our commitment to complying with the laws and regulations of the Province of Ontario and fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all individuals involved in our organization.
